Post Partum Rehabilitation
Following delivery, many women have residual pain and discomfort in the pelvis. The biomechanical changes that occur during pregnancy and delivery occasionally remain beyond the birthing process. Many women require the addition of post partum rehabilitation exercises in order to strengthen the pelvic floor musculature and restore balance to the pelvis. Careful consideration must be taken when returning a new mother to a strengthening program. In addition to adding simple rehabilitative exercises, a new mother must also be aware of postural changes that result from caring for an infant.
